Woongin Energy
Woongjin Energy is a leading company that specializes in manufacturing ingot and wafer using poly-silicon for Solar Cells. Woongjin was established in November 2007 after its joint venture with US 'SunPower' the prior year. The production plant was constructed in 46,530m©÷ site, where world's highest level single-crystalline ingot is produced with over 95% of efficiency. Moreover, with the completion of the second plant in September 2010, Woongjin plans to expand the total production of ingot CAPA to 1GW by enlarging the production scope to CAPA 6000 ton by September 2011.
Currently, Woongjin Energy is producing both N-type and P-type ingot. Since 2009, it has been manufacturing variety of wafers like 6in, 6.3in, 8in and more. Woongjin is planning to meet even the needs of new domestic and foreign customers through 500MW Diamond Sawing Wafer equipment that will be constructed until July 2011.

STX Solar, established in 2007, accelerated its continuous investment in the facilities including a 60,000m©÷ solar cell production plant site in Gumi Industrial Complex.
